In this category, you’ll find spare parts for the TCL 40 SE, the entry-level model in TCL’s 40 series, with a 6.75-inch IPS screen running at 90 Hz and a 5010 mAh battery. Choose from a complete screen assembly, battery, rear cover, charging port, button flex cable and camera lens in Original, OEM and Premium quality. These parts are useful whether you’re repairing your own phone or run a repair shop and need to keep parts for this model in stock.

T610K, T610E or T610P: how to identify a TCL 40 SE

The TCL 40 SE sold in Europe has the model number T610K and is the dual-SIM 4G version. The T610E and T610P variants are available in Latin America, and all of them were made with either 4 GB and 128 GB or 6 GB and 256 GB. Screen replacements on the market are often listed for the T610K, T610E and T610P at the same time. Even so, check the code before buying if the phone is from another country.

To check the model, go to Settings > System > About phone. The IMEI and serial number are listed under Status in the same menu. The code also appears on the box label, and it’s what a repair shop should ask for if the customer can’t turn on the phone.

Don’t confuse it with other models in the series. The TCL 40 R 5G has a 6.6-inch screen, while the TCL 40 XE 5G has a 6.56-inch screen. As their dimensions differ, the screens for these models won’t fit the 40 SE, even though they look quite similar.

The six TCL 40 SE parts and what each quality offers

The 6.75-inch IPS panel and its 90 Hz refresh rate

The TCL 40 SE comes with a 6.75-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch for the front camera. As it’s a complete screen assembly, the touchscreen glass and LCD come bonded together as one part, which is what you replace if either one breaks.

The compatible complete screen assembly for TCL 40 SE is Premium quality: a compatible part at a lower price than a factory replacement. This model doesn’t have an under-display fingerprint reader, so replacing the panel won’t affect unlocking. If the 90 Hz refresh rate is important to you or you need a version with a frame, check these details on the product page before ordering.

The 5010 mAh TLP049C8 cell

The original battery has a capacity of 5010 mAh and supports 18 W wired charging. Our 5010 mAh TLP049C8 battery for TCL 40 SE is Premium quality and has the same rated capacity as the factory-fitted battery. The TLP049C9 code is also used for this model on the market, so the most reliable option is to compare the label on your battery with the product listing.

We haven’t found any TCL documentation or repair-shop reports mentioning non-genuine battery warnings on the TCL 40 SE. You need to remove the rear cover to access the battery, so many repair shops replace both parts during the same repair if the rear cover is already damaged.

A polycarbonate rear cover supplied with adhesive

The TCL 40 SE’s rear cover is made of polycarbonate, not glass. This makes replacing it one of the simplest repairs on this model: there’s no glass to remove and no special tools are needed. The original rear cover with adhesive for TCL 40 SE is Original quality and comes with the adhesive already fitted, saving you from buying it separately and helping the cover sit properly.

Before ordering, check the product page to see whether it includes the camera lens or whether you’ll need to transfer the old one. If the lens is also broken, you can find it separately in the next section.

Side buttons, USB-C connector and camera glass

As well as the three main parts, this category includes other replacements that are often damaged through everyday use:

The TCL 40 SE fingerprint reader is in the power button

On the TCL 40 SE, the fingerprint reader is built into the power button on the right-hand side. This has two implications when choosing a replacement part. First, replacing the screen won’t affect fingerprint recognition. Second, the side buttons and fingerprint reader are in the same area.

In the official parts catalogue for other models in the 40 series, TCL lists the fingerprint module separately from the side-button flex cable. So if fingerprint unlocking is the problem and the button still clicks, check what’s included in the flex cable listing before buying. TCL doesn’t document any software pairing between the board and the screen, battery or cameras on this model.

Frequently asked questions from repair shops about the TCL 40 SE

Can I fit a screen from a TCL 40 R 5G or 40 XE 5G?

No. Those models have 6.6-inch and 6.56-inch screens, while the 40 SE has a 6.75-inch screen. The dimensions and layout don’t match, even though they’re part of the same series.

Will I lose fingerprint or face unlock if I replace the screen?

Fingerprint recognition will still work, as the reader is built into the power button and isn’t under the panel. Face unlock uses the front camera, which isn’t part of the screen assembly.

Does my battery have the code TLP049C8 or TLP049C9?

Both codes are associated with the TCL 40 SE and its 5010 mAh battery. Check the label printed on the battery currently fitted and compare it with the product listing before buying.

Will replacing the camera lens fix blurry photos?

Only if the damaged part is the outer glass, for example if it’s scratched or cracked. This part replaces the protective lens and its frame, not the camera module’s sensors.
