The Xiaomi Redmi A4 is an entry-level phone that Xiaomi launched in India in late 2024. It became the first device to use the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip. In this section, you’ll find the complete screen, the 5 MP front camera and the button flex cable. Its exterior is very similar to the Redmi 14C and Poco C75, so before buying, it’s worth checking which components it shares with them and which it doesn’t.
The Xiaomi Redmi A4 is only available as a 5G model, with reference 24116RNC1I
Although it’s often referred to simply as the Redmi A4, there is no 4G version: Xiaomi sold it exclusively as the Redmi A4 5G, with model reference 24116RNC1I. The final I indicates the Indian market, where it was officially distributed, so units available in Europe are imported. To check the reference, go to Settings > About phone > Detailed information and specifications and check the Model field.
It’s easy to confuse it with its siblings. The Redmi 14C (4G, with Helio G81-Ultra), the Redmi 14C 5G and the Poco C75 share the same 6.88-inch form factor and an almost identical circular camera island. Don’t confuse it with the Redmi A5 either: this later 4G model is considered a different device by spare parts suppliers. If your reference isn’t 24116RNC1I, you’re in the wrong category.
The Redmi A4 5G features a 6.88-inch IPS LCD with 120 Hz and a waterdrop notch
The front of the Redmi A4 5G features a 6.88-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1640, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of around 600 nits. The selfie camera is positioned in a waterdrop-shaped notch at the top, so the replacement part must have the cutout in the same position.
One detail makes the choice easier: on this model, the fingerprint reader isn’t under the glass; it’s on the side. This means that replacing the screen doesn’t affect fingerprint unlocking, and there are no sensors attached to the panel that need to be transferred from one part to another.

Several suppliers group the A4 panel with those for the Redmi 14C, 14C 5G and Poco C75. However, the chassis and mounting points may differ between versions, so it’s best to order the part specified for the 24116RNC1I.
On the Redmi A4 5G, the fingerprint reader is in the power button, not under the glass
The Redmi A4 5G has the volume and power buttons on the side, and the power button includes the fingerprint reader. This matters when choosing the right part: if the button doesn’t click or the phone won’t start, the part you need is the button flex cable. If the buttons work but the fingerprint reader doesn’t detect your finger, the fault may be with the sensor, which is usually sold separately in the spare parts market.
The power and volume button flex cable for Redmi A4 that we currently stock is listed as Original quality. This means it has the same specifications as the flex cable installed in the phone from the factory. It’s the right choice if you want the buttons to respond just as they did on a new handset.
From the outside, the A4’s buttons are in the same position as those on the Redmi 14C, but the board is different: the A4 uses a Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, while the 14C 4G uses a Helio G81-Ultra. For this reason, don’t reuse a flex cable from those models without first checking compatibility.

The Redmi A4 5G front camera offers 5 MP and an f/2.2 aperture, and records video at 1080p at 30 fps. The A4 clearly differs from its siblings in this respect: the Redmi 14C 5G has an 8 MP front sensor, while the 4G Redmi 14C has a 13 MP sensor. Although the front of the phones is almost identical, the camera module isn’t, so compatibility with a camera from a 14C isn’t guaranteed.

The module sits beneath the waterdrop notch, so if you’re also replacing the screen, you can use the same opening in the phone to replace both parts.

Will a Redmi 14C screen fit the Redmi A4 5G?
Many suppliers sell the same 6.88-inch panel for the Redmi A4 5G, the 4G and 5G Redmi 14C, and the Poco C75. However, the frame and mounting points may vary by version. To avoid any risk, choose the screen for code 24116RNC1I.
Will I lose fingerprint recognition when replacing the Redmi A4 screen?
No. The Redmi A4 5G fingerprint sensor is located in the side-mounted power button, not under the glass, so the screen doesn’t affect unlocking. If the fingerprint reader doesn’t work after a repair, check the side button and its connection.
My Redmi A4 box doesn’t say 5G: is it the same model?
Yes. Xiaomi only sold the Redmi A4 as a 5G model, and the code 24116RNC1I should appear in Settings. If a different code is shown, you probably have a Redmi 14C, a Poco C75 or a Redmi A5.
Can I fit the Redmi 14C 5G front camera in the Redmi A4?
It’s not recommended. The 14C 5G has an 8 MP front sensor, while the Redmi A4 5G has a 5 MP sensor, so they are different modules. Use the camera specifically designed for the A4.
