In this section, you’ll find the available parts for the vivo V40 SE: a Premium complete screen, a 5000 mAh battery and the original rear camera lens. The model arrived in Europe in 2024 with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel at 120 Hz and an under-display fingerprint reader. These two features determine which replacement part is right for you. This information is useful both for individuals repairing their own phone and for repair shops that need to confirm the exact variant before placing an order.
V2337 or V2342: check which vivo V40 SE you have
Two different phones with identical exterior designs are sold under the name vivo V40 SE. The original version, with 5G and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, has the model code V2337. A few months later, a 4G-only version with Snapdragon 685 was released, registered as V2342. Both share the same dimensions, colours (Crystal Black and Leather Purple) and 6.67-inch screen, but differ in their mainboard, charging speed and number of cameras.
To find out which one you have, go to Settings > About phone and look for the model number, or check the label on the original box. If the phone won’t start, look at the back: the 5G version has three cameras, while the 4G version has just two.
- V2337 (vivo V40 SE 5G): Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 50 + 8 + 2 MP rear cameras, 44 W charging.
- V2342 (vivo V40 SE 4G): Snapdragon 685, 50 + 2 MP rear cameras, 80 W charging. It shares its platform with the vivo V30 Lite 4G and vivo Y100 4G.
- vivo Y200e 5G: same dimensions, processor and 6.67-inch screen as the V40 SE 5G, but with a dual rear camera.
Two models looking alike on the outside doesn’t guarantee that their parts are interchangeable. If your phone is a V2342, check the compatibility listed on each product page before buying, especially for the battery and camera lens.
Replacement parts for the vivo V40 SE and how they differ
Premium quality compared with the original 120 Hz AMOLED
The vivo V40 SE comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, 2400 x 1080 resolution, a selectable refresh rate of 60 or 120 Hz and peak brightness of 1800 nits. The optical fingerprint reader is located beneath the glass and reads your fingerprint through the panel itself, so the screen you choose also affects unlocking.
The Premium complete screen compatible with vivo V40 SE is a compatible, non-original replacement at a lower price than a factory part. It comes as a complete panel and touchscreen assembly, so there’s no need to separate the glass from the display. Before buying, check the panel technology listed on the product page and whether it retains the fingerprint reader and 120 Hz refresh rate. If you use fingerprint unlocking every day, this is the most important detail to confirm.
For repair shops: the external dimensions and screen size are the same on the 4G and 5G versions, but we haven’t been able to confirm whether the connector and flex cable are identical. If the device is a V2342, check compatibility before installation.
5000 mAh battery life and BA28 reference
Both versions of the vivo V40 SE have a 5000 mAh battery. The 5000 mAh battery for vivo V40 SE restores the factory-rated capacity. In the replacement parts market, the 5G model’s battery is usually identified by the reference BA28, which is also associated with other vivo phones on the same platform, such as the Y200e 5G.
Capacity is the same on the 4G and 5G versions, but charging isn’t: 44 W on the V2337 and 80 W on the V2342. Faster charging may be associated with a different cell or protection circuit, so don’t assume the same battery works with both versions without checking the product page.
As for the software, we haven’t found any vivo documentation describing a non-genuine part warning for this model, or explaining how it calculates the health of a battery installed outside the official service network. If this is important to you or your customer, bear it in mind before carrying out the repair.
Original glass for the triple-camera module
The original rear camera lens for vivo V40 SE is the protective glass covering the module, not the sensor. It’s the right part if the glass is broken or badly scratched and the cameras are still working. As an Original quality part, its shape and fit match the factory component.
Here, the variant matters more than for any other part. The V40 SE 5G has three cameras (50 MP main, 8 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro), while the V40 SE 4G and Y200e 5G have just two. That’s why the camera lens from one of these models may not fit the other, even if the back looks identical at first glance.
Optical fingerprint reader and IP54: what changes when you take apart a vivo V40 SE
- Under-display fingerprint reader: as it’s optical and sits beneath the panel, it may need to be recalibrated after replacing the screen. vivo provides calibration tools used by repair shops; if you can’t access them, bear this in mind before carrying out the repair.
- IP54 resistance: the phone is protected against dust and splashes when it leaves the factory. This protection depends on the original adhesives, so it cannot be guaranteed once the device has been opened.
- Pairing with the mainboard: we haven’t found any public vivo documentation indicating that the screen, battery or camera is locked by serial number on this model. We can’t rule it out, but there’s no verified evidence of it either.
- Two back cover thicknesses: the Crystal Black version is 7.79 mm thick, while the Leather Purple version, with its vegan leather finish, is 7.99 mm thick. The screen and battery are identical in both colours within each version.
Frequently asked questions about repairing the vivo V40 SE
Will parts from the vivo Y200e 5G or V30 Lite work?
The Y200e 5G shares its dimensions, processor and screen size with the V40 SE 5G, although it has one fewer rear camera. We haven’t been able to verify that all its parts are interchangeable, so it’s best to choose replacement parts listed for your model code.
Is the V40 SE 4G battery identical to the 5G battery?
Both have a capacity of 5000 mAh, but the 4G charges at 80 W and the 5G at 44 W. The BA28 reference associated with the 5G hasn’t been confirmed for the V2342, so it’s best to check the product page before ordering.
Will the fingerprint reader still work after replacing the screen?
That depends on whether the replacement panel is compatible with the optical reader and whether it’s correctly calibrated after installation. Check the details for the Premium screen and, if you’re a repair shop, have the calibration tool ready.
How do I know whether I need the lens or the complete camera?
If only the outer glass is damaged and photos are sharp once any dirt or dust has been removed, replacing the lens is enough. If the image still has issues with the glass intact, the fault is with the sensor and replacing the lens alone won’t fix it.
