RMX3370 distinguishes the Realme GT Neo 2 from the GT Neo2T and GT Neo 3T

On the Realme GT Neo 2, the model code is listed in Settings, under About phone, and on the box label. If it says RMX3370, you’re in the right category. There are two models it’s often confused with:

• Realme GT Neo2T (RMX3357): features a Dimensity 1200 processor, a 6.43-inch screen and a 4500 mAh battery. None of the parts in this category fit it.
• Realme GT Neo 3T (RMX3371 and RMX3372): has the same processor, a 6.62-inch screen with identical specifications and a 5000 mAh battery, although it charges at 80 W and has a racing flag design on the back.

Inside, the GT Neo 3T is practically an updated GT Neo 2, and in the spare parts market the screen and BLP887 battery are sold as compatible with both. The rear cover is the exception: the design and colours are different. Always order one that matches your model code.

The Realme GT Neo 2 has a 6.62-inch E4 AMOLED panel with an optical fingerprint reader

Out of the box, the Realme GT Neo 2 comes with a 6.62-inch E4 AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and the front camera in a hole in the top-left corner. Beneath the panel is the optical fingerprint reader, which detects your finger using light from the screen itself. This is the key factor when choosing a replacement.

This compatible replacement is designed to restore the display and touch functionality at a lower price than an original part. As the fingerprint sensor is optical, it only works with OLED-type panels. Compatible LCD or INCELL screens sold for this model don’t support fingerprint unlocking. If the user uses fingerprint unlocking, check the panel technology in the product details before buying.

The GT Neo 2 also supports face unlocking via the front camera, and this function doesn’t depend on the screen. Once you’ve completed the replacement, delete the saved fingerprints and register them again. The sensor was calibrated for the previous glass, and the thickness of the new assembly may vary slightly.

BLP887: the Realme GT Neo 2 battery has two 2500 mAh cells and pull tabs

The Realme GT Neo 2 battery has the part number BLP887 and a total capacity of 5000 mAh, split across two 2500 mAh cells in a single pack. As it’s a dual-cell assembly, you’ll need to fit another complete BLP887 to replace it, not a single-cell battery with a similar capacity.

The 5000 mAh BLP887 battery for Realme GT Neo 2 is currently available in OEM quality. The GT Neo 3T and realme GT 2 use the same BLP887 part number, so a repair shop only needs to keep one unit in stock to repair all three models.

This is one of the easiest parts to replace in this device. Once the cover and inner shield are removed, the battery is accessible and has pull tabs, although it’s also secured with adhesive. Have new adhesive ready to secure the replacement pack in its compartment.

The Realme GT Neo 2 rear cover is glued on and can be replaced without a laser

The Realme GT Neo 2 rear cover is bonded to the chassis with adhesive that softens when heated, so you don’t need a laser to replace it. Beneath it is a plastic inner cover secured with 17 screws, which protects the board. This means you can replace the cover without working on the screen.

The original rear cover with camera frame for Realme GT Neo 2 is available in Black and Green. As it includes the camera frame, you also replace the area most likely to be damaged when the phone falls on its back, without having to transfer the frame from the broken cover to the new one.

The GT Neo 2 was sold in three finishes: Neo Black, Neo Blue and Neo Green. Check your device’s colour before ordering, as this part is only available in black and green. Apply new adhesive to ensure the cover fits securely all the way around.

Is the GT Neo 3T screen compatible with the Realme GT Neo 2?

Both models have the same 6.62-inch, 120 Hz screen, and they’re considered interchangeable in the spare parts market. Before fitting it, check that the panel technology and frame match those of the part you’re replacing.

Will the fingerprint reader still work after replacing the screen?

That depends on the replacement panel’s technology. The optical reader may still work with an OLED panel, but not with an LCD or INCELL panel. In any case, delete the fingerprints and register them again after the replacement.

I’ve found BLP887 batteries rated above 5000 mAh. What’s the actual capacity?

According to the official technical specifications, the Realme GT Neo 2 has a capacity of 5000 mAh. Several BLP887 listings quote higher figures that don’t match these specifications. Our battery is sold with its original factory capacity.

Are Realme GT Neo2T parts compatible with the RMX3370?

No. The GT Neo2T (RMX3357) has a 6.43-inch screen, a 4500 mAh battery and a different construction. Despite the similar name, it shares none of the parts in this category with the GT Neo 2.
