The Realme 16 Pro 5G was unveiled in January 2026 with a Dimensity 7300-Max processor, a 200 MP main camera and a 144 Hz AMOLED screen, and arrived in Spain in March alongside the 16 Pro+. Both share the same name and Urban Wild design, but not the screen or rear camera setup. The Realme 16 Pro has the model code RMX5120 and does not share a screen with the 16 Pro+

The global and European versions of the Realme 16 Pro use the model code RMX5120, which also appears on its EU energy label; the Chinese edition was certified as RMX5121. You’ll find the code under Settings > About device, on the box or on the regulatory label. If your code is RMX5131 (16 Pro+) or RMX5171 (Realme 16), you have a different model in the range and need its own parts.

• Screen: the 16 Pro has a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED screen, while the 16 Pro+ features a curved 6.8-inch panel with Gorilla Glass 7i. They are not interchangeable.
• Rear cameras: the 16 Pro has two (200 MP and 8 MP), while the Pro+ adds a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens, so the rear cover and camera frame have a different layout on each model.

The Realme 16 Pro has a 144 Hz flat AMOLED screen with an optical under-display fingerprint sensor

The Realme 16 Pro display is a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1272 x 2772, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and a stated peak brightness of 6,500 nits. The fingerprint sensor is optical and integrated under the screen: it reads your fingerprint using light emitted by the screen itself, so the replacement screen is part of the unlocking system.

The complete screen for Realme 16 Pro in black is available in Original quality and Black, the premium option for this model. Once fitted, register your fingerprints again: on Realme devices with an optical sensor, the reader may need recalibrating after the screen is replaced. A technician can do this via engineering mode.

If you’re unsure which version you have, check the edges of the glass. If your phone’s screen has curved sides, it’s a 16 Pro+ and this flat screen is not compatible.

The Realme 16 Pro’s rear cover is made of matte polymer with a metal camera frame

The Realme 16 Pro does not have a glass back: its rear cover is made of a matte-finish polymer, in keeping with the plant-based silicone concept of the design by Naoto Fukasawa, and the camera module is finished with a metal frame with a mirror finish. The thickness depends on the finish: the gold version is 7.79 mm thick, compared with 7.75 mm for the others.

The complete Realme 16 Pro rear cover with camera frame comes with the frame already fitted, so there’s no need to peel the decorative piece off the damaged cover or risk compromising its mirror finish. It is currently available in Original quality. Before ordering, check the available colour on the product page and make sure the camera cut-out matches the two rear lenses, not the three on the Pro+.

Three camera modules on the Realme 16 Pro: 200 MP with OIS, 8 MP and 50 MP front camera

The Realme 16 Pro has three separate camera modules, sold individually. All three are currently available in Original quality:

• The 200 MP main rear camera uses a 1/1.56-inch Samsung HP5 sensor with optical image stabilisation. It powers 2x lossless zoom and LumaColor portraits, so it’s important to replace it with the module made specifically for the 16 Pro.
• The 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera features a 1/4-inch OmniVision OV08D10 sensor with a 112-degree field of view.
• The 50 MP front camera for Realme 16 Pro features a 1/2.88-inch OV50D40 sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

Although the 16 Pro+ also has a 200 MP main sensor, its board is different (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 compared with the Dimensity 7300-Max on the 16 Pro) and its rear camera setup includes a telephoto lens. Always order the modules listed for the 16 Pro.

The Realme 16 Pro charges via USB-C 2.0 and features stereo sound

The USB-C charging port for Realme 16 Pro is a USB Type-C 2.0 connector with OTG, currently available in OEM quality. Charging power varies by market: the version sold in Spain is rated at 45 W, while Realme advertises 80 W in other regions. Bear this in mind when comparing charging times after the repair, as slower charging on a European model is normal from the factory.

The device has stereo speakers, and the main speaker for Realme 16 Pro replaces just one of the two channels and is available in Original quality. The power and volume button flex cable, also in Original quality, handles the buttons only: as the 16 Pro’s fingerprint reader is under the screen, this flex cable does not include a biometric sensor.

Will a Realme 16 Pro+ screen work on the 16 Pro?

No. The 16 Pro+ has a curved 6.8-inch panel, while the 16 Pro has a flat 6.78-inch panel, with a different glass shape. Check the RMX code before ordering.

How can I confirm that my phone is the RMX5120?

Go to Settings > About device and look for the model field; the code also appears on the box. European and global units show RMX5120, while Chinese units show RMX5121.

Will the fingerprint sensor still work after replacing the screen?

The Realme 16 Pro’s optical reader works through the screen, so you’ll need to register your fingerprints again after replacement. If recognition doesn’t work, the sensor can be recalibrated via engineering mode. It’s best to do this before considering the repair complete.

Will the Realme 16 Pro retain its IP69 protection after being opened?

Realme lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for the 16 Pro, although the European RMX5120 label shows IP68. These ratings depend on the factory seal, so they cannot be guaranteed once the device has been opened to replace the rear cover or screen.
