The Realme 12 spare parts category includes components for two different phones with the same name: the Realme 12 5G (RMX3999), with an LCD screen and a 108 MP camera, and the Realme 12 4G (RMX3871), with an AMOLED panel and a 50 MP camera. Virtually no parts are compatible with both, so each item specifies the version it belongs to in its name. Check which model you have before placing your order.
Realme 12 5G (RMX3999) and Realme 12 4G (RMX3871): same name, different internals
In some markets, the 4G variant is sold simply as realme 12, without specifying its connectivity, so the label on the box is not enough. The reliable information is the model code, which can be found under Settings > About phone in the Model field, and is also printed on the box label. If it says RMX3999, it is the 5G; if it says RMX3871, it is the 4G.
If the device will not start, check the fingerprint reader: the 5G has it built into the side power button, while the 4G has it under the screen. This is the quickest way to identify your model if you cannot access the settings.

The Realme 12 5G has a 6.72-inch LCD and a fingerprint reader outside the panel
The full screen assembly for Realme 12 5G corresponds to the RMX3999's 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel, with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It is not suitable for the Realme 12 4G, which has a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel and an optical fingerprint reader under the panel.
On the 5G, the fingerprint sensor is located in the power button, so biometric unlocking does not depend on the screen you install. We currently offer it in Premium quality: a part compatible with the Realme 12 5G, at a lower price than the manufacturer's official replacement. If keeping the maximum brightness of 950 nits or the smooth 120 Hz refresh rate is important to you, check the product listing for the exact specifications.
Please note the Realme 12x 5G (RMX3997): it also has a 6.72-inch LCD with a 120 Hz refresh rate, but matching specifications do not guarantee that the panels are interchangeable. Always order the screen using your phone's model code.
Realme 12 5G with a 108 MP sensor and Realme 12 4G with a 50 MP Sony LYT-600
The rear camera is the component that differs most between the two versions. The 5G has a 108 MP Samsung HM6 main sensor measuring 1/1.67 inches, while the 4G uses a 50 MP Sony LYT-600 with optical image stabilisation. These sensors are made by different manufacturers, so each module is compatible only with its respective version.

- 8 MP front camera for Realme 12 5G: for the 5G only. The 4G has a 16 MP selfie camera, so this module is not compatible with it.
Both rear camera products are for the main module. Both versions also have an auxiliary 2 MP sensor, which is not included in these parts, so first identify which camera is faulty. All three cameras are available in Original quality, meaning they use the same sensor as the phone did when it left the factory.
Realme 12 4G and Realme 12 5G each have their own main speaker
Both versions play sound in stereo (the 4G is advertised with dual Hi-Res speakers), but the main speaker, used for speakerphone calls, music and ringtones, is not shared. The phones have different internal designs, and each module is made for its own chassis.

The Realme 12 5G charges at 45 W SUPERVOOC via USB-C 2.0
The USB-C charging port for Realme 12 5G is the port for the RMX3999's 45 W SUPERVOOC fast charging and USB 2.0 data connection. It is listed as compatible with the 5G only: the 4G is a different device, with 67 W charging, and does not share this part number.
We currently offer it in OEM quality. The Realme 12 5G retains its 3.5 mm headphone jack, so if the fault also affects wired audio, check the product listing to see exactly what is included. Do not use the connector for the Realme 12x 5G as a substitute either; it is sold as a separate part for the RMX3997.
Realme 12 4G, 5G and 12x: common questions before ordering a replacement part
My box only says “realme 12”. Is it the 4G or the 5G?
Check the Model field under Settings > About phone: RMX3999 is the 5G and RMX3871 is the 4G. If you cannot turn it on, a fingerprint reader in the side button confirms it is the 5G, while an under-screen reader indicates it is the 4G.
Will replacing the Realme 12 5G screen affect fingerprint unlocking?
On the 5G, the sensor is built into the power button, not located under the panel, so a new screen will not affect fingerprint recognition. The 4G is different, as its reader is under the AMOLED panel.
Will the Realme 12 5G screen fit the Realme 12x 5G?
Both have a 6.72-inch LCD with a 120 Hz refresh rate, but they are different models (RMX3999 and RMX3997), and we have not confirmed that their screens are interchangeable. Order the screen that matches your phone's model code.
Can I install the 108 MP camera in a Realme 12 4G?
No. The 4G uses a stabilised 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor, while the 108 MP module is specific to the 5G. The same applies to the front camera: 8 MP on the 5G and 16 MP on the 4G.
