In this category, you’ll find parts for the Motorola Razr 50, the 2024 clamshell foldable marketed in the United States as the Razr 2024. Currently available are an Original-quality screen assembly and a Premium-quality 4200 mAh battery. They’re suitable both for consumers repairing their own phone and for repair shops that regularly work on foldables. Its most distinctive feature is the 3.6-inch cover screen, which leaves a strip of the casing colour beneath the cameras. This detail makes it easy to tell apart from its larger sibling.

XT2453 codes: how to tell the Motorola Razr 50 from the Razr 50 Ultra

The Razr 50 belongs to the XT2453 model family. The international version is listed as XT2453-1, while the US version, the Razr 2024, is listed as XT2453-3. To check yours, go to Settings > About phone and open the regulatory or hardware information section. The full XT code is shown there.

The most common mix-up is with the Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024 in the United States), which has the code XT2451. You can tell them apart without switching them on:

  • Razr 50: 3.6-inch cover screen, with a strip of colour between the display and the hinge.
  • Razr 50 Ultra: 4-inch cover screen that extends across the entire cover to the hinge.

Although they look very similar, their parts are not interchangeable. The cover screen sizes differ, as do the batteries: the Ultra uses cells with the codes QR30 and QR10. If your phone’s code starts with XT2451, this category is not for your model.

The Motorola Razr 50’s foldable screen and dual battery: what each replacement part does

The inner foldable display, in Original quality

The Razr 50’s main screen is a 6.9-inch foldable pOLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1080. The original screen assembly for Motorola Razr 50 is the top-of-the-range option. As an Original part, it performs just like the factory-fitted display in terms of brightness, colour and touch response, including around the fold.

On Motorola foldables, the ultra-thin protective layer is bonded to the display and cannot be replaced separately. That’s why these screens often come fitted to part of the chassis. Before buying, check the product details to see exactly what’s included (frame, hinge or adhesives), so you know what you’ll need to transfer from your phone to the new part.

Please note that the 3.6-inch cover screen is a separate component. If only the cover glass is broken, replacing the inner display won’t fix it. It also has no effect on the fingerprint reader, which is located in the side button.

Two cells, QR31 and QR11, in Premium quality

The Razr 50’s 4200 mAh capacity isn’t stored in a single cell. The phone splits it between a 3060 mAh QR31 main battery and a 1075 mAh QR11 secondary battery, one in each half of the body. The 4200 mAh compatible battery for Motorola Razr 50 is Premium quality: it’s a compatible alternative at a lower price than an official service replacement.

The product name includes both codes, so check the product details to see whether you’ll receive both cells or just one. If battery life has dropped significantly, it’s best to replace both during the same repair, as the phone must be fully dismantled to access them. We haven’t found reliable Motorola documentation on the messages shown by the system after replacement. Therefore, we can’t confirm how the battery status information will be displayed.

What changes when you open a Razr 50: side-mounted fingerprint reader, IPX8 sealing and two halves

The fingerprint reader on the Motorola Razr 50 is built into the power button on the right-hand side, not beneath the screen. Replacing the inner display therefore doesn’t require you to register a new sensor under the glass. The phone also unlocks in the same way whether it’s open or folded.

It comes with an IPX8 rating for immersion in fresh water, but it has no dust-resistance rating. Its water resistance depends on adhesives that break when the device is opened. After a replacement, you can’t assume it will retain the same level of resistance, so it’s advisable to apply new adhesives and keep it away from water.

Inside, the device is split into two halves connected by flexible cables that run through the hinge, with one battery in each half. For a repair shop, this means more hours of work than for a conventional phone. For a consumer, it’s a repair best undertaken with previous experience working on foldables.

Frequently asked questions about Motorola Razr 50 and Razr 2024 parts

Will parts for the US Razr 2024 fit a European Razr 50?

Both belong to the XT2453 family and are the same phone, with different names depending on the market. Even so, check your phone’s XT code against the one in the product details before buying any part.

Can I install a Razr 50 Ultra battery?

No. The Ultra has a QR30 main battery and a QR10 secondary battery, with different capacities and part references from those of the Razr 50. Your model requires QR31 and QR11 cells.

Only the cover screen is broken. Will the screen assembly work?

The 3.6-inch cover screen and the 6.9-inch foldable display are separate components. Check carefully which one is damaged before choosing a replacement part.

Why is the capacity listed as 4200 mAh if the cells add up to slightly less?

Motorola lists a total capacity of 4200 mAh, while the service cells are rated at 3060 and 1075 mAh. This slight difference between the advertised figure and the individual cell ratings is common. The phone uses both batteries at the same time, as if they were one.
