This section covers replacement parts for the Google Pixel Fold, Google's first foldable device. Launched in 2023, it features a wide, passport-style design and a camera bar running from one side of the back to the other. You'll find the external screen, the back cover in two colours, and smaller internal components: the fingerprint sensor flex cable, the volume up and down button, and the flash flex cable. For now, all parts in the catalogue are available in Original quality.

The first-generation Google Pixel Fold has the model code G9FPL

The model code for the Google Pixel Fold is G9FPL. You'll find it under Settings > About phone > Regulatory labels, at the top of the screen. The FCC certification also lists a second code, G0B96, with the same FCC ID. Google hasn't clarified how they differ, so if your phone shows G0B96, contact us before placing your order.

It's easiest to mistake it for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold or later models. The 2024 model moved away from the wide design: it's taller and narrower, replaces the camera bar with a rectangular module in the corner, and has a 6.3-inch external screen, compared with the Pixel Fold's 5.8 inches. As the dimensions and design differ, the external screen and back cover are not interchangeable between generations. If the camera bar on your Google foldable spans the full width of the back, it's a Pixel Fold.

5.8-inch 120 Hz OLED on the Google Pixel Fold's outer panel

The original complete external screen for Google Pixel Fold replaces the panel you use when the phone is closed. It's a 5.8-inch OLED with a resolution of 2092 x 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass Victus. On the Pixel Fold, this is the screen on the outside when folded, so it's the one most exposed to knocks and scratches.

Don't confuse it with the 7.6-inch foldable inner screen: that's a different part, considerably more expensive, and isn't included in this product. If the inner panel is damaged, replacing the outer one won't fix it. This panel also doesn't include a fingerprint reader, as the Pixel Fold's sensor is located in the side button. So when choosing this part, you only need to check that your phone's model code is G9FPL.

Glass attached with perimeter adhesive on the back of the Google Pixel Fold

The small back cover with adhesive, in Obsidian or Porcelain replaces the Pixel Fold's rear glass. The glass is attached to the frame with perimeter adhesive and lifted by applying heat, without using a laser, so the entire part is replaced. As the product already includes the adhesive, there's no need to cut tape to size when sealing the phone again.

Choose the colour to match your Pixel Fold's finish: Obsidian is black and Porcelain is the light-coloured option. Google sold this model in only those two colours, so this part fits any original unit. Before placing your order, compare the product images with the damaged area on your back cover to make sure it's the correct part.

The Google Pixel Fold's fingerprint reader is in the power button

The Google Pixel Fold doesn't have an in-display fingerprint reader: its capacitive sensor is built into the side power button. Both this sensor and the volume button are inside the frame, beneath the motherboard. So if you're taking the phone apart to replace either of these parts, it's worth having all the components you might need to hand.

Pixel Fold fingerprint flex cable attached to the power button

The original Pixel Fold fingerprint sensor flex cable connects the side-mounted reader to the board. On this model, the sensor and power button are one assembly, so replacing one also means replacing the other. Google provides a fingerprint sensor calibration option on its software repair website, which may be useful if the system doesn't recognise the new reader properly.

Pixel Fold side volume button

The original volume button for Google Pixel Fold is on the same side as the fingerprint power button. To access it, you need to remove the motherboard, just as with the reader. As it's an inexpensive small part, it's worth ordering it with the fingerprint flex cable if the phone was knocked on that side, so you only have to take it apart once.

Pixel Fold flash and sensor flex cable

The original flash and sensor flex cable for Google Pixel Fold connects the rear flash and its accompanying sensor to the board. The Pixel Fold has its cameras in a horizontal bar, a layout the Pixel 9 Pro Fold moved away from, so order the flex cable for your model only. Check the G9FPL code before buying.

Frequently asked questions about buying Google Pixel Fold parts

Are these parts compatible with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold?

No. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has different dimensions, a 6.3-inch external screen and a camera module in the corner. The parts in this category are designed exclusively for the Pixel Fold G9FPL.

Does the external screen include the foldable inner screen?

No. The external screen is the 5.8-inch panel visible when the phone is closed. The 7.6-inch inner screen is a separate part and isn't included in this listing.

Do I need to calibrate anything after replacing the fingerprint reader?

Google provides a software repair tool on its website that includes an option to calibrate the fingerprint sensor. If the new reader doesn't recognise fingerprints after replacement, try using this tool first before assuming the part is faulty.

Which colour back cover do I need?

The Pixel Fold was sold in only two colours: Obsidian, which is black, and Porcelain, an off-white shade. Choose the one that matches your device's frame and camera bar.
