This section brings together spare parts for the Google Pixel 7a, the mid-range model Google introduced in May 2023 with a Tensor G2 processor and a plastic rear cover. You’ll find the complete OLED screen, the GP5JE battery, the rear cover in four colours and internal components such as the fingerprint sensor, charging port and front-facing camera. Before placing your order, check the model code and read the information below about fingerprint calibration and Google’s battery programme, as both affect which component you need.

The GWKK3, GHL1X, G0DZQ and G82U8 codes all belong to the same Google Pixel 7a

Google sold the Pixel 7a under four model codes: GWKK3, GHL1X, G82U8 and G0DZQ. All four share the same board design, and the battery and other commonly replaced parts are identical across them. The only variant with different components is the G0DZQ, which includes a 5G mmWave antenna for Verizon’s network in the United States.

To check the code on the phone, go to Settings, About phone and Regulatory labels. The IMEI is also shown on the SIM tray, which is useful if the screen is unresponsive. Don’t confuse it with the Pixel 7: its screen measures 6.3 inches, while the 7a has a plastic rear cover, a smaller camera bar and no microphone hole next to the flash. For this reason, the screen and rear cover from one model will not fit the other.

The Google Pixel 7a has a 6.1-inch 90 Hz OLED with an in-display fingerprint sensor

The original panel is a 6.1-inch OLED with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The fingerprint reader is optical and sits beneath the screen, so the replacement part you choose also affects unlocking.

We currently stock the complete OLED screen for Google Pixel 7a, with the same panel technology as the original model. Replacement screens supplied by Google come with the fingerprint reader already attached. Many aftermarket screens do not include it, in which case you’ll need to transfer it from the damaged panel or fit a new one. Check the product listing to see whether the sensor is included before buying.

The screen is removed from the front without handling the battery or rear cover, and is secured with adhesive around the entire perimeter. If the replacement doesn’t come with the adhesive pre-applied, order a new one as well to ensure the panel is firmly secured in the frame.

The Pixel 7a uses a 4385 mAh GP5JE battery, although the label states 4300 mAh

Google lists a typical capacity of 4385 mAh and a minimum capacity of 4300 mAh. That’s why the battery with the GP5JE code is printed with 4300 mAh (16.55 Wh at 3.85 V). If you see this figure on the label, it’s the correct part and fits all four model codes.

The GP5JE battery compatible with Google Pixel 7a is currently available in Premium quality, a compatible and more affordable alternative to the original part. It’s accessed from the rear after removing the wireless charging coil, and is attached to the chassis with adhesive strips that must be replaced each time the battery is changed.

Bear in mind that the Pixel 7a doesn’t have a battery health menu, which Google reserves for the Pixel 8a and later models. This indicator won’t appear after replacement, regardless of which battery you fit.

On the Google Pixel 7a, the rear cover and camera bar are one single part

Unlike the Pixel 6a, the Pixel 7a has a single composite plastic rear cover that incorporates the camera bar. It’s attached to the aluminium frame around the entire edge and around the cameras, so it can be removed with heat, without a laser, and needs new adhesive when refitted.

The original rear cover with camera lenses includes the rear camera glass, so it’s also useful if the lenses are scratched or broken. It’s available in these colours:

  • Blue (the shade Google calls Sea)
  • Charcoal
  • Coral
  • Snow

If the rear cover has come away from the edges on its own, check the battery before closing the phone. Google acknowledges that some 7a units have batteries that swell, and one symptom is a bulging cover or one that has separated from the frame.

For the Google Pixel 7a, the fingerprint sensor, 13 MP camera and USB-C port are sold separately

The Pixel 7a’s optical sensor needs calibration using Google’s tool

The fingerprint sensor with integrated flex cable, in Original quality, can be used to fit a reader beneath a screen that doesn’t include one or to replace a faulty sensor. After replacing either the screen or the sensor, you need to calibrate the fingerprint reader using Google’s Pixel Repair tool on a computer. Without calibration, the reader may not register fingerprints correctly. Some technicians report having to reset the phone afterwards, so create a backup beforehand.

The other listed Pixel 7a parts are Original quality

What Pixel 7a owners ask most: swollen battery, fingerprint reader and battery health

Can my Pixel 7a with a swollen battery be covered by Google’s programme?

In April 2025, Google launched an extended repair programme for Pixel 7a devices with swollen batteries, covering, among other regions, the European Economic Area. Google checks whether your phone is eligible using its IMEI. If it isn’t covered, the part you need to replace is the GP5JE battery.

Will the fingerprint reader work after replacing the screen?

Yes, provided the sensor is installed correctly and calibrated using Google’s official tool, which requires connecting the phone to a computer via USB. Test it before fully closing the phone: if it doesn’t respond after calibration, check the sensor flex cable connection.

Will a Pixel 7 screen fit the Pixel 7a?

No. The Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch panel, while the 7a has a 6.1-inch one. Always check the model code under Regulatory labels before placing your order.

Will I be able to see the new battery’s health in Settings?

Not on this model. The Battery Health section is only available from the Pixel 8a onwards, so it won’t appear on the 7a with either the original or a replacement battery.
