How to replace it (and where people often go wrong)

With the frame included, the job involves transferring the components from the old phone to the new frame. It is easy to explain, although it does take some time.

1. Heat the back cover to around 80 °C and remove it using a suction cup and thin picks. It is made of glass and cracks easily.
2. Remove the plastic covers, disconnect the battery first, and then take out the motherboard, cameras, speaker and flex connectors.
3. The battery is firmly attached. Soften the adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and do not lever against it.
4. Connect the new screen and switch on the phone before closing anything: test the touchscreen around the curved edges, the S Pen in all four corners and the brightness.

There are two recurring issues mentioned on forums. If the S Pen only responds in one area, the screen connector is almost always not seated correctly: reconnect it, pressing until you feel it click into place. If the touchscreen does not respond, check this same flex cable before anything else.
