How do you change the Samsung A51 screen?
Samsung mobiles have some peculiarities, and depending on the model, it is advisable to disconnect the battery before connecting the new screen. Why? It seems to be the procedure that Samsung carries out and we recommend the same to our customers, so you can avoid surprises.
At iLevante, we recommend that if you have patience, are careful, and a bit handy, you do the installation of the new screen yourself. It is a simple process that will not take more than 25 minutes and will save you a lot of money.
- First of all, turn off the Samsung A51 before starting the screen replacement operation.
- Make sure you do not have static electricity in your body.
- You will need a heat source, such as a heat gun or a hairdryer. If you have a heat gun, the maximum temperature should be 120ºC. If you have a hairdryer, you don't need to worry, they do not reach such high temperatures.
- You have to apply heat to the sides of the screen. Start by heating one of the sides, constantly moving the heat source. Try not to stay more than 2 seconds in the same area and do not get closer than 5cm to the screen. Gradually, the adhesive that holds the screen will soften.
- With one of the picks we provide, insert it between the Samsung A51 and the screen and move it up and down to detach that side.
- Continue and do the same with the other three sides.
- Try not to apply heat to the center, because that's usually where the battery is and high temperatures are not good for it.
- Once you have all the sides detached, it's time to apply heat to the inside. Do it gradually and use the suction cup to completely detach the screen.
- Remember that if you have a broken screen, you can use the levers, but be careful, as the screen is connected by a flex cable to the phone's motherboard and if you go too far, you can tear off the connector. So do this slowly.
- Once detached, disconnect the flex cables from the original Samsung A51 and clean off any adhesive residue.
- Now, if you have access to the battery, disconnect the connector, so the phone will be at 0% battery.
- Connect the new screen you have purchased and reconnect the battery.
- Ready, you can turn on the phone and check if everything is fine.
- At this point, you just have to glue the Samsung A51 screen back on and press the phone to make sure it is well fixed.
