Differences in Screens for iPhone 11

Publicado por Pablo

The iPhone 11 is one of three versions of this model that was introduced in 2019 by Apple, whose features satisfied many users despite being the ?most basic? of the three and whose screen continued the same quality line as its predecessors.

Features of the original iPhone 11 screen

The factory screen of the iPhone 11 ( iPhone 11 complete screen) has the following features:

  • Liquid Retina HD screen
  • 6.1? multi-touch LCD with IPS technology and frameless.
  • Resolution of 1792 x 828 px at 332 ppi.
  • Contrast ratio 1400:1
  • True Tone display
  • Wide color gamut display
  • Haptic touch response
  • Maximum brightness: 625 nits.
  • Oleophobic coating resistant to fingerprints.

Apple decided to repeat the same formula as its predecessor, the 2nd generation iPhone SE, whose only practical difference is that the iPhone 11 has a Liquid Retina HD, LCD screen of 6.1?.

For this reason, the definition of the iPhone 11 panel was very pleasing to users due to its excellent balance between diagonal (thanks to IPS technology) and its magnificent resolution.

Its saturation and contrast are high, and the color gamut is faithful, as would be expected from a phone like the iPhone.

Types of replacement screens for iPhone 11

There are mainly 3 types of screens that work with the iPhone 11

iPhone 11 OLED screen

OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode, which works through a diode that emits light in each pixel, allowing them to turn on and off only when necessary and independently.

OLED screens are thinner than other screens because several layers are removed, resulting in a thickness of 1.2 mm.

Since this type of screen does not require a backlight, there will be no backlight bleed, allowing colors to appear more vivid, better saturated, and ?more real,? considering that each subpixel emits light individually and passes through the RGB filter, which provides the color tones in the final image.

Another advantage is its ability to offer deep blacks, achieved thanks to the autonomy of each pixel, which can completely turn off, thus generating the neutral color.

The response speed of these screens is 0.001 ms, which is very positive, especially for those who use their phones for gaming.

The refresh rate on OLED screens is simply spectacular; in the case of the iPhone 11, it has up to 120Hz.

However, despite the great advantages offered by this type of screen, it is important to consider its disadvantages:

Due to its complex manufacturing technology, OLED screens for iPhone 11 have an approximate cost of 57.30 euros in Spain.

The sale of these screens is often limited compared to others, mainly due to their production cost.

OLED screen panels tend to degrade faster compared to LCDs, and they can suffer from burn-in on some pixels, eventually showing a black spot in specific areas.

iPhone 11 Incell screen

It is characterized by being thinner and works through multiplex electrodes that offer a somewhat questionable image.

One of the main attractions of Incell screens like Compatible iPhone 11 Screen is their price, being very economical within the universe of iPhone 11 replacement screens.

In terms of color, we do not achieve the quality we would like in the image. Blacks are not as pure, and whites may appear bluish.

The response time of Incell screens is usually lower than OLED and TFT.

The response time is a bit slower. However, it should be noted that it does not hinder its functionality.

Finally, regarding the layers of the screen, we find that INCELL screens have fewer layers than other LCD screens, so their thickness is less.

The approximate price in Spain is 16.90€.

iPhone 11 TFT screen

Its acronym stands for ?Thin Film Transistor,? and it is a type of LCD screen that uses liquid crystals placed in different layers that rotate and polarize according to the color needed to be displayed, with a backlight at the rear that serves as a ?flashlight? emitting white light through LED diodes.

It features an active matrix structure that significantly improves the image compared to other LCD screens, offering bright colors with good definition, although the depth of black is not the best.

The response time is truly acceptable, so the average user will not notice changes after replacing the screen.

This type of screen is economical, with an estimated price of 44.50 euros in Spain.

Finally, its availability in the market is high, making it easy to find as a replacement, although we do not highly recommend its purchase.
